In our Arsenal-Liverpool match review, me and Blackburn George, aka @arseblagger, express our joy at the Gooners finally inflicting a Premier League defeat over the Scousers for the first time in five years.
Let there be no doubt this is a very good Liverpool team despite their modest position in the league. While Arsenal roared out of the gates from the very start and scored within the 1st minute, Liverpool was always able to play their way back into the match and drew level at 2-goals apiece. But the Gooners showed class and determination, going toe-to toe with the opposition throughout the 2nd half, highlighted by scoring the winning goal on a magnificent counter attack, driving from box-to-box.
We are most impressed by the all round improvements in the Arsenal squad year on year when we consider the wide gulf in class between both teams as recent as last season. To be fair, one must give full credit to manager Mikel Arteta for this achievement given our well known skepticism of his management as expressed oftentimes in this podcast.
All that and more in the podcast. Hopefully you share our sentiments.
We would love your feedback.
