Revenge is sweet. Both Blackburn George and I are gloating in our review of Arsenal’s thrashing of Newcastle at home. We note that in the reverse encounter last November Newcastle won by a very dubious goal in the dying minutes of the match; literally “cheated” in George’s opinion. At the Emirates the game was pretty much decided in the first half as Arsenal put a strangle hold on Newcastle right from the kickoff. In a game of two halves, Arsenal cruised into the second stanza allowing Newcastle their game total of 3 shots/2 on target while the Gunners added 2 goals to their tally. Full credit to Arteta and his players after a poor performance last Wednesday at Porto in the champions league.
